What do you think of this?
Found this whilst googling about this morning. Do you think this is possible?

http://z8.invisionfree.com/Al_Gore_Support/index.php?showtopic=8063

As the representative from Aussies4Gore (YES, AL HAS MANY FANS DOWN UNDER), I have been watching closely the state of play with the Democratic primary close-off dates.

I understand many of you are down hearted and negative, but as Al said in Rolling Stone, his supporters have to trust him to make the right choices.

I have no doubt that Gore is thinking about entering this race. And I would like to officialy place on the record thata Gore Obama ticket will not only be unstoppable, but also very likely. One only has to see the recent wind-up of attacks on HRC to realise that it is all comming unstuck for her quickly, making the window of opportunity for a Gore entrance bigger by the day.

BUT HE HAS MISSED MICHIGAN, NH AND OTHER STATES! I hear you all say.

Yes, this is tue.

But Obama hasn't. He has filed for everyone.

What if it is a Gore-Obama ticket, and Obama has filed for the the states Gore has missed? And they are running mates?

Easy, if you want to vote for Gore, vote for Obama in these states. These Delegates to the DNC will vote for Gore.

If I could spend time collecting signatures in the US to draft Gore, I would. If your laws allowed foreign nationals to donate to US campaigns, I would. But all I can ask is that those of you in the United States of America who still believe Gore is mans last best hope to save our plannet, please do everything you can to encourage him to run. The people of Australia thank you.

I know that Gore is a very unconventional thinker. As mopinko has said time and time again, this is our civics lesson. I am not sure what to think this week - but I am not willing to give up hope just yet. Last I looked, the election was still a year away.

And the link above is to an interesting Gore forum - found some interesting news posted there earlier this fall that I missed. May post it later if I have time.

Peace.

2. Sorry I can't make your show.
Last night was our only window this weekend.

I think the election is a year off. Our primary doesn't happen until February. I am in a wait and see kind a mental space.

It's not like there is some political wunderkind waiting in the wings for my to latch onto.

3. I've been watching this forum closely.
What caught my attention was when the person who is obviously in the middle of the Draft Gore movement in Cali said that, specifically, they were told when the phone call came down that it could 'create problems' for Gore.
And that was all the elaboration they were given.
I think this is signifigant.

4. I think there is more going on than meets the eye
That's why I am willing to wait. Gore said to trust him. I do. I do not think this is over by a long shot.

7. Reading that forum unsettled me
The "co-admin" claims, "The CA effort was shut down yesterday at the request of Mr. Gore's office, and the national effort followed."

Does anyone know the name of the "staffer"? Have I missed it? I have asked the same question in a number of threads, and have not received a reply.

As I said in another thread here in this forum, I wrote to the draftgore.com website. The reply:

Victoria,

We have a statement in our first news item. If you have further
questions after reading it, feel free to contact me.

Best,

Monica Friedlander
Draft Gore

Their statement:

California Ballot Initiative Halts Activities
Draft Gore reponse

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nov. 13 -- Organizers of California Draft Gore, a grassroots campaign to put Al Gore's name on the California presidential primary ballot, announced today that it is halting its activities. The group is unaffiliated with Draft Gore.

"We have recently received a communication from a member of Al Gore's staff discouraging any efforts to put Al Gore's name on the primary ballot," stated Roy Gayhart, organizer for the statewide campaign. "Accordingly, effectively immediately, we have ceased our signature collection and related fund raising activities."

Read press release.

Draft Gore response

We commend the decision of Draft Gore California to honor Al Gore's wishes and halt its extraordinary effort to qualify Al Gore for the state primary ballot.

The decision, however, has no immediate impact on Draft Gore's activities. Our goal has been very different all along: to influence Al Gore's decision to become a candidate for President in 2008. The request from Vice President Gore's office specifically mentioned ballot efforts, not general efforts to promote a Gore candidacy.

As long as there's still time for Al Gore to enter the race and he does not give us any indication that our efforts are not welcomed, we will continue our activities.

Now this statement from Draft Gore contradicts what the "co-admin" stated (that the national effort followed).

* Their has been no statement from Gore himself

* No one seems to know who this staffer is

* As of 11.18.07 at 2:50 pm PST, none of the following have stated anything wrt to stopping an Al Gore for pres effort:

http://current.com/
http://gorehub.com/
http://www.algore.org/
www.myspace.com/algore08
http://www.americaforgore.org/

If what the "staffer" said is to be believed, why aren't all Al Gore sites saying the same thing?

I'm thinking that we have been had by a single phone call from someone that has not been identified.

8. I agree.
It is very confusing. That's why I'm keeping a close eye on the forum...
