Native Am Heritage Association calling for warm clothing...can you help?
Got this email from a friend and wanted to pass it on...as far as I can tell, it's legit.
:grouphug:

Our American Indian neighbors living in South Dakota, and Wyoming are in DIRE NEED of warm clothing !

Huge snow drifts, and especially prolonged freezing weather has put people's health, and lives at risk.

The Native American Heritage Association, NAHA, delivers warm clothing, and food to isolated families on reservations all over the states of South Dakota, and Wyoming....PLEASE HELP THEIR HEROIC EFFORTS!

Women's, children's, and men's clean warm clothing is a priority. Thank you for your caring for each other!
Pass this on to your friends and maybe some could team up and do a yard or bake sale and pull the funds together to send a nice bundle.....

The mailing address is:

Lakota Oyate Wakaneya Owikaiyapa
East Highway 18 - Box 604
IHS Compound
Pine Ridge, South Dakota 57770

Goodwill (I find ALL KINDS of really good clothes there for myself all the time) and put a bundle toghether..I guess the cost of shipping is going to be the hardest part of this.

9. The NAHA link says that they also desperately need cash contributions.

I'll do that.

Thanks for bringing it here, Desertrose. I'll also share it on my Facebook page. (Thanks for the idea, laylah!)

11. I sent a box this past week.
It cost $14 and change to send a 9-pound-plus box of kids' sweaters. It cost less than I thought, & it's still winter up there. Hope they can use them.
