How do you deal with a problem school?
The schools in this area will only accept students from their own feeder area unless you can talk another school into accepting your child, usually for a special program eg. drama.

My son's school is broken, to put it bluntly.

I know several parents. We're all having troubles with multiple teachers, the vice principal and the principal (who's currently on leave).

My son is being accused of all sorts of wild stuff he hasn't done eg. hacking into the school's computer. He's become the scapegoat for the entire school, from the sounds of it. A friend's son was in the same position and she had to send him out of province.

I've got a call in to the school board and I've already threatened to lawyer up.

1. Update: Just talked to a school trustee
Described the school atmosphere as "poisonous", threatened to sue one of the teachers for slander. He's gonna rattle their cage - possibly set up home schooling.

2. Home school...
Your son is going to learn precious little in the public school, by the sounds of it.

I suggest home-schooling. If that's unaffordable, you might consider communal-schooling (like home-school only the kids from various families are sent to one home for a 'one-room schoolhouse' like education, parents chip in to help out the one who is 'teacher').

Not to drag you away from the parenting group, but DU has a home-schooling support group who have some experience with broken public schools. You might consider asking in the HS group as well as here.
