A sobering book for teens
I just finished reading TWICE this evening a paperback called "It Happened to Nancy"...about a young lady who contracted AIDS through a date rape at the age of 14.

It's edited by Dr. Beatrice Sparks, the same person who prepared the book, "Go Ask Alice"...I remember buying that book during a school trip because I knew there was no way my parents would buy that book for me.

It was gripping to see how that young lady's life slowly snuffs away. I have no daughter but I felt like I was losing one while I was reading it.

A relatively old book (copyright 1994) but very relevant...

1. My (now) 14 year old read it.
It was one of the books that got her hooked (relatively late - 9-11 or so) on reading. It was sold through Scholastic Books at least that recently.
