"Happy Meal"
What's so "happy" about McDonald's "Happy Meal"...considering feed lots and slaughter houses?

Something to ask.

I get a weird, silent pause when I ask that.

1. And the fact
that they're teaching their kids to eat fast food - fat, greasy, salty, sweet sodas - empty calories with basically zip nutritional value.

Chubby little kids are NOT cute!

2. Wrong side of the coin. See, McDeath
doesn't care about the consumer (usually children, with the Happy Meal), nor the feedlot animals. They do care about shareholders, dividends and return on investment. When nothing else matters...well, nothing else matters. So, the happiness in the Happy Meal is purely Dow Jones inspired.

4. Way back in the '70s (semi off-topic)
My mom gave me a valuable lesson. McDonald's ad campaign at the time was, We Do it All For You. Being an impressionable little kid of under 10 (and wanting to eat out) I tried to convince my mom to take me there. "See Mom? They do it all for us."

"No," she replied, "they do it all for their profits."

That lesson has stuck with me since then. So now when I see Frank Perdue talk about how much he cares for his chickens, or the California cheese producers rave about their "happy" cows, I know they're full of crap. All they care about is selling their product and making money, not about the animals or the customers.
