McCaskill wins!!! Talent concedes !!!!
And how about the catastrophe in St. Charles??

Three heroic ShowMe citizens fought off the sheriff, GOP lawyers, and Rich Chrismer. Then stuck it out at the 170th precinct in St. Charles County, cameras and all!!

St. Charles went to Talent by 52 to 44% (probably 51% to 48% when we see the films, and recount).

Give a big HIP! HIP! HOORAY!!! to those brave souls from ShowMeTheVote!!!!

1. I haven't
heard anything about the catastrophe in St.Charles. Do you have a link to a news story or anything?

By the way, I live in St.Charles City. Needless to say, I'm joyous that McCaskill appears to have won, it's a good day for sure.

There is another bit of the question over at the Election Reform Forum.

It was very close to catastrophe. We've been working on it for almost two weeks.
From what I understood by phone (I'm in Independence), Chrismer nearly melted when one lady pulled out the Mo Revised Statutes, cited the law to the sheriff, and dared to be arrested!

From that moment on the Election Director of St. Charles was under constant camera scrutiny. If there was a plot laid (and I think there was), it was foiled. Guess it proves that old saying about "the best laid plans of mice and men (or Rats and Crooked men), gang aft aglee!

2. I'm proud of Missouri today!
It's an unpredictable state.

I felt disappointed in Missourians after the 2004 election but today I feel proud. Not only did we elect a Democrat to replace Talent but we elected a woman.

Way to go!!
