If jobless benefits run out, then what?

Steve Davis has until the end of January to figure out how to keep him and his family from being homeless.

“My unemployment stops in January,” the father of two said.

“It’s going to be hard, really hard,” said Barbara Thurman, the client service coordinator for the Anderson Cottonwood Christian Assistance. Her organization has lost more than half of its grant funding, and it has cut back from delivering two boxes of food to needy families a month to just one.

ACCA, Thurman said, is signing up about 70 new families each month — about half of whom are on unemployment and about half have exhausted all available benefits.

BTW, north of San Francisco is the "state of jefferson," a place that'd be considered third world if it were its own country

3. Can Gov Brown undo Reagan's ban on new WPA-style employment programs
I know that was a Federal ban, so Gov Brown may be able to create it because he's at the State level. A friendly group of WA OR and CA could work nicely. The sentiments of many 1930s and 1940s films of 'we're all in this together' and government is there to just level that impossible climb to something that CAN be done.
