Outrage about jokes about the "Special Olympics" - Obama vs Larry
Okay, Obama makes a joke about how his bowling was out of the Special Olympics ... OUTRAGE ALL OVER THE MEDIA, SARAH PALIN GETTING BACK IN THE NEWS, RERUSHLICANS SCREAMING, CALLING INTO SHOWS DENOUNCING THE INSENSITIVE TERRORIST MUSLIN PRESIDENT ...

Now ... I had the unfortunate experience of having watched, yet again, the Larry the Cable Guy portion of the Redneck Comedy Tour ...

As his comedy bit goes, he's bagging his own groceries in a store ... an old lady pats him on the head and says "It's good that they have you people working." (to that effect). According to his "comedy", he says "So I said 'Dank Yewwwww' and crapped my pants and ..."

So where's the outrage?

1. Let's face it...Obama made a gaff. A dumb one at that.

Let's also face another thing...the American right will take anything he does and shake the shit out of it like a terrier with a small rodent in it's mouth.

2. Much as I loathe Larry the Cable guy...
He's a comedian.

Obama is the President of the United States.

It's hardly an earth shattering gaffe, and the outrage on the right is predictable and overblown.

But the fact is that it was a gaffe. He apologized, and the majority of Americans have moved on and are fine with the apology.

But to claim it wasn't a gaffe, or to compare it to a joke made by a comedian isn't being honest about the situation either.

3. and yet the media hasn't publicized any groups trying to get LTCG to apologize
(but then, years ago, Yakov Smirnoff had to apologize to Cleveland ...)
