(12,619 posts)When his movie Rust Never Sleeps came out to theaters in '79, my late wife and myself went and saw it at the Simi Valley Drive In theater, yes, I'm that old, and we loved it so we went and bought the album and wore it out.

Our version was much more like the G3 version. Heads Up! This is a long version.

This song has much to say, not unlike much of Neil's stuff. Prolific artist and one my my top 5 for sure. Probably influenced by how many of his tunes I can play. Wish I could find an acoustic with the bottom end of his for a reasonable cost. Admittedly I have not jumped in that rabbit hole,,,yet. haha

(65,686 posts)It's an DC-28E. (The "C" means cutaway, "E" means is has a pickup & preamp.)
Super round low end. Deep, but not boomy.
Not the brightest, pingiest sound, which kind of forces me to change strings more often!
It's super warm sounding. I use this way more than my other 2 6 strings.
I use the Carvin Cobalt & Guild 12 string guitars a lit, too. Two different tunings, so they're not interchangeable for me.
I inherited another Martin when my brother-in-law died. It's a mid 60s Bob Shane model. Sounds nice, plays easy, but ugly. Not sure if I'm going to keep it or sell it & buy a resonator. I need no more electric guitars.
