HAPPY MOTHERS DAY MOM

My Mother died on 07 May 1966, shortly before my 12th Birthday. I talk to her often. We had a great time together. She didn’t have the best life but she was very good and kind to me. She couldn’t cook worth a damn but she could dry a tear and tuck in her rowdy buckaroo every night. I cherish my pics of us and Dad and my brother. Ya know, the old black and white pics with us formally posed. Thx Ma. It was a short ride but a great one.

Tell her about our beloved Phillies. Told her about my older brother dying. Tell her about my time in the Navy. Tell her about her awesome daughter in law. Sit out on the patio and just say Hi. It’s selfish of me but I’m not gonna give her up. I appreciate your feedback Irish Dem. And by gosh, My Mom was a MURPHY.

Unless it is interfering in other relationships or activities.

It started as a way to cope with a very serious childhood loss.
And then carried on as way to stay connected to her.

Your mom was a Murphy.
Must be why I liked this story right away!

She made you feel loved. Eleven is so young to lose her, but she was there for the first branches of a tree, for the parts of your self and your memory that are so fundamental it’s just who you are, before you knew you were you.

I think you’ll see her again in a space that includes time as just one more traversable dimension.
